Movado, a Swiss luxury watch brand founded in 1881, gained fame for its minimalist design and the iconic Museum Watch with a single dot at 12 o'clock symbolizing the sun at high noon. In the 1940s, artist Nathan George Horwitt redesigned the Museum Watch, solidifying Movado's place in design history. The brand continued to innovate, introducing the first scratch-resistant watch case in 1963. Movado's Museum Watch became part of the permanent collection at the Museum of Modern Art in 1960. Over the years, Movado has collaborated with renowned designers and artists, expanding its collection to include sport watches and high-end timepieces. In 1983, the brand was acquired by North American Watch Corp. and later by Movado Group, Inc. Movado continues to be a symbol of modern design and innovation in the world of luxury watches.
