Roger Lucas
Roger Lucas, a Canadian jewellery designer, emerged as a celebrated figure in modernist jewellery during the 1960s. His brand story is defined by creativity, innovation, and a fusion of artistic and sculptural elements in his designs. In 1969, his reputation earned him an invitation from Cartier to create a special collection for their New York boutique. This collaboration cemented his legacy as a designer of distinction. One notable creation from this era was the Tri-Sphere Ring, inspired by the Apollo 11 moon landing. This piece, featuring lapis lazuli spheres symbolising the moon, Earth, and Sun, captured the spirit of exploration and innovation, hallmark traits of his work.Â
Lucas’s creations for Cartier and beyond remain influential, celebrated for their bold shapes and modernist appeal, reflecting his ability to merge inspiration with exceptional craftsmanship. His designs continue to inspire collectors and jewellery enthusiasts worldwide.
